Hundreds of young Kapampangans join sixth Walk of Saints in Mexico

Young Kapampangans traded spooky Halloween costumes for saintly attire as they took part in the sixth edition of the “Pamisamak Ding Banal” or Walk of Saints at Santa Monica Parish in Mexico, Pampanga.

Now in its sixth year, the annual religious tradition brings together children and young people dressed as saints to commemorate All Saints’ Day and promote holiness among the younger generation.

“We called for holiness through the Walk of Saints,” said Claire Macabali, youth coordinator of Santa Monica Parish, emphasizing the importance of encouraging young people to embrace the values of faith and sanctity.

Among the participants was 18-year-old Justine Ferdee Dizon of San Lorenzo, Escaler, who joined the activity for the first time, portraying Saint Michael the Archangel.

For Dizon, the event offered an opportunity to take part in a religious tradition that celebrates the lives and virtues of the saints.

Through “Pamisamak Ding Banal,” the parish continues to encourage the youth to look beyond Halloween festivities and recognize All Saints’ Day as an occasion to honor holy men and women whose lives serve as examples of faith, courage, and devotion.
