The Pampanga government, under the leadership of Governor Dennis Pineda, kicked off on Monday, August 12, the celebration of the “Linggo ng Kabataan.”
The event coincided with the International Youth Day.
Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Pampanga Chapter Chairman John Carlo Cruz, representing Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, led the celebration with the theme “Clicks to Progres: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development Goals” at the Capitol Grounds, San Fernando City.
The activity aimed to invite the youth to discover how technology could help towards innovation and a better future, the Provincial Information Office (PIO) said.
The observance of the Youth Week is in accordance with Republic Act No. 10742 or the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015.
In the province, the celebration would last until the end of the month, with various activities being lined up, such as the Leadership Training for Sangguniang Kabataan (Aug. 28), Special Drug Education Center 2nd Session (Aug. 27), Sangguniang Kabataan Mandatory Training (Aug. 29), and Provincial Youth Congress (Aug. 30).
