Reelected San Fernando City, Pampanga Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag has expressed readiness to answer the election protest filed against her.
Losing candidate Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab filed on Thursday, May 22, a poll protest against Caluag before the Commission on Elections for alleged cheating in the May 12 elections. She also asked for a manual counting of votes in the city.
Caluag denied the allegation, saying she had no capability to cheat.
She stressed that Fernandinos were “wise voters.”
Caluag garnered 127,124 votes in the recent elections, way above Cayabyab’s 49,061 votes.
