CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — In a landmark gesture of philanthropy and humanitarian commitment, the Lazatin family formally donated a parcel of land for the future headquarters of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Pampanga Chapter during a ceremonial turnover held on August 3 at EastGate Center here on Aug. 3.
The event was attended by PRC chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon, secretary general Dr. Gwen Pang, PRC Pampanga-Angeles City Chapter chairman Alfrito Mah and members of its board of directors, local officials, distinguished guests, media partners, volunteers, and members of the Lazatin family.
Representing the family, Gino Lazatin Magat described the donation as a continuation of a legacy of public service that has endured for generations.
“Our family’s relationship with the Philippine Red Cross goes back many decades,” enthused Magat. “My grandfather, Jesus ‘Jess’ Lazatin, was an active member of the organization, and his commitment to humanitarian service was carried on by his son, Jaime Lazatin. Over the years, that relationship has grown into a lasting friendship founded on a common purpose—to serve others.”
Magat said the family hopes future generations will continue supporting the PRC and uphold the tradition of service established by their forebears.
The donation provides the PRC Pampanga–Angeles Chapter with a permanent site for its headquarters, a development expected to strengthen its disaster response, blood services, health programs, and humanitarian operations across Pampanga. “For decades, the Philippine Red Cross Pampanga Chapter has been a source of hope for countless families,” Magat said. “Through your compassion, dedication, and tireless service, you have strengthened communities and made a lasting difference in the lives of so many Kapampangans.”
He expressed hope that the future headquarters will become more than an administrative office. “May it become a place where lives are saved, volunteers are inspired, and the spirit of compassion continues to grow for generations to come.”.
The Lazatin family also paid tribute to the dedication of the organization’s officers, board members, staff, and volunteers, reaffirming their commitment to stand beside the PRC in its mission of serving the people of Pampanga.
The new headquarters at EastGate Center is expected to provide the chapter with a permanent base for expanding humanitarian services, trainings, seminars and disaster preparedness initiatives, further strengthening the PRC presence in the province.
