LUBAO, Pampanga – A total of 13,549 school supply kits were distributed to indigent students across Lubao through a series of distribution activities held ahead of the opening of the new school year.
Of the total, 12,147 kits were provided by the Lubao municipal government, while 1,402 kits were personally donated by the Pineda family, led by Mayor Esmeralda Pineda and councilor-elect Jayson Victorino.
The school supply kits—containing notebooks, pad papers, and various writing and coloring materials—were turned over to barangay captains for distribution to primary and secondary students in their respective communities.
Mayor Pineda emphasized that the initiative is part of the LGU’s continuing efforts to ease the burden on families struggling to meet the basic educational needs of their children. “This simple effort is part of our commitment to ensure that no child is left behind because of lack of school supplies.”
In a show of community support, barangay officials also contributed by providing paint for the improvement of school facilities.
Meanwhile, the local government installed 82 new pairs of blackboards and repainted an additional 226 pairs in preparation for the new academic year.
To help reduce the discomfort caused by extreme heat in classrooms, 492 ceiling fans were also donated to various public schools.
These collective efforts underscore the strong collaboration between the LGU, barangay leaders, and the Pineda family in supporting education and improving the learning environment for Lubao’s youth. Press release
