San Fernando City Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag has welcomed the opening of a new branch of a famous fast food chain in the city.
McDonald’s Saguin officially opened its doors to the public on May 15, providing people with more options for where to avail of its world-famous French Fries and other products such as burgers, chicken, spaghetti, and nuggets, among others, the City Information Office (CIO) said.
Caluag, who was represented by City Public Employment Services Office Acting Manager Mary Ann Biliwang, in the recent event, cited that McDonald’s has been a great partner in terms of job opportunities, as residents of Saguin and other parts of San Fernando are hired at the branch.
CIO noted that since the ’90s, McDonald’s has built nearly a dozen branches in San Fernando, with its branch at Megaworld Capital Town Pampanga in Sto. Niño, being the largest in the Philippines.
It added that the city government Department of Labor and Employment, and Golden Arches Development Corporation, which owns the McDo master franchise in the Philippines, recently signed a memorandum of understanding that pushed for the employment of senior citizens in all McDonald’s branches in San Fernando.
