San Fernando City Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag has led the city government in mourning the passing of Kapampangan Poet Laureate Tang Felix M. Garcia. He was 87.
The mayor, together with her fellow local leaders and the entire city government workforce, extended her deepest sympathies to Garcia’s family, friends, and colleagues.
Garcia was a renowned poet and cultural advocate. He was a recipient of the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Award.
He was a member of the city’s Multi-Sectoral Governance Council, representing the Aguman ding Talasulat Capampangan, and the Arts, Culture, and Tourism Council.
“We ask everyone to pray for the eternal repose of the soul of our beloved Kapampangan,” the City Information Office said.
