Mayor Caluag suspends in-person classes in San Fernando City on July 27

Mayor Vilma Caluag of San Fernando City, Pampanga suspended Saturday, July 27, the face-to-face classes at all levels, both in public and private schools in the city.

The City Information Office (CIO) said this is due to anticipated impacts of potential thunderstorm.

This would also provide students continued safety and enough time to recover from Typhoon Carina’s and the southwest monsoon’s aftermath, which included floods in certain areas, it said.

However, the educational institutions are allowed to conduct online or any applicable alternative learning modality, the CIO said.

“The City Government of San Fernando’s Emergency Operations Center is still fully activated, thus the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or performance of other vital services shall continue to operate,” it stressed.
