San Fernando City Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag has expressed gratitude to the Department of Tourism (DOT) for recognizing the city’s commitment to promoting the local tourism industry.
The DOT conferred the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Government Partner award to the city.
Caluag assured the local government’s continuous active implementation and expansion of the FBSE program through partnerships, trainings, and collaboration with the tourism industry.
DOT 3 Regional Director Richard Daenos officially presented the award to the mayor and the entire city government workforce on Monday, August 4, at the Heroes Hall.
San Fernando was the lone local government unit in Pampanga and one of only four in Central Luzon to be nationally recognized at the FBSE Summit 2025 held recently in Metro Manila.
The other awardees from Central Luzon included Aurora province, Tarlac City, and Science City of Muñoz in Nueva Ecija.
The FBSE is an initiative by the DOT that aims to elevate the overall quality of tourism services across the Philippines. By providing world-class service infused with a unique Filipino touch, the program seeks to create positive and memorable experiences for all tourists and strengthen the country’s tourism industry.
