Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has ordered the City Police Office to swiftly resolve the robbery incidents victimizing foreign nationals, particularly Koreans, within 48 hours.
Acting City Mayor Ma. Vicenta Vega-Cabigting issued a memorandum on Saturday, December 28, addressed to Police Col. Amado Mendoza Jr. of the Angeles CPO.
Vega-Cabigting noted the reported robbery incidents committed against foreigners, especially the Koreans, by allegedly the same four-man gang riding two motorcycles and carrying pistol guns.
“Relative to this and upon the instruction of City Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi” Lazatin Jr., the Angeles City Police Office is hereby directed to immediately solve the reported incidents of robbery targeting foreign nationals within forty-eight (48) hours upon receipt of this memorandum,” she said.
Lazatin said these incidents are unacceptable, especially during a season when the community should feel safe and secure.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors alike, and we will hold those responsible accountable. We expect swift action from our police force to put an end to these incidents,” he said.
