Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has distributed P130,000 cash incentives to the Batang Pinoy National Championships winners.
Five student-athlete winners and five coaches received certificates of recognition and cash incentives, the City Information Office (CIO) said.
The city bagged one gold, three silver, and four bronze medals during the annual sporting event on November 23-28 in Puerto Pricesa City, Palawan.
Each gold medalist received ₱20,000; ₱15,000 for silver medalists; and ₱10,000 each for bronze medalists.
Meanwhile, each coach also received ₱5,000 cash incentive.
“We take pride in our student-athletes who have brought honor to Angeles City. This recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication,” Lazatin said during the awarding ceremony on Monday, December 16.
He also recognized the coaches and trainers for their role in the athletes’ success.
