The Angeles City government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., has ranked 5th in the “Most Improved Local Government Units (LGUs)” category for highly urbanized cities (HUCs).
This was the third time in a row that the city got the recognition from the Department of Trade and Industry’s 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).
The achievement follows a previous CMCI award in 2019, when the city was recognized as the 2nd Most Improved HUC, and another in 2022, when it held the 5th spot as well.
“We are honored to be recognized once again in the Top 10 for most improved cities, as this reflects the city government’s efforts in improving public services and a progressive community for Angeleños,” Lazatin said.
The CMCI awarding ceremony will be on November 11, at SMX Clark in Clark Freeport Zone.
It is a yearly event honoring the achievements of cities and municipalities in advancing their competitiveness. These awards showcase the unwavering commitment of LGUs to sustainable growth and innovation.
