Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II presided over a coordination meeting to prepare for the Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan (TTKD) of Fiestang Kuliat.
Representatives from the City Tourism Office, City Police Office, City Traffic Development Office, JCI Angeles City Culiat, barangay officials, and City Information Office (CIO) participated in the meeting.
“Higit pa sa musika, street dancing, pagkain, at masayang pagtitipon, ang TTKD ay bahagi ng kuwentong bumuo sa Angeles City,” the CIO said.
The celebration started in 1992, a year after the Mt. Pinatubo eruption.
“Sa gitna ng lahar at pagsubok, hindi sumuko ang mga Angeleño. Sa halip, sama-samang bumangon, nagbangon ng kabuhayan, at muling binuhay ang komunidad. Kasabay ng muling pagbangon ng lungsod, isinilang ang isang pagdiriwang na naging simbolo ng pag-asa, pagkakaisa, at matatag na diwa ng Angeleño,” the CIO said.
Since then, TTKD has become one of the highlights of the Fiestang Kuliat.
The Fiestang Kuliat is celebrated for the whole month of October.
