Angeles City, Pampanga Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has ordered the suspension of face-to-face classes at all levels in public and private schools in the city on Monday, November 18.
Acting Mayor Ma. Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting said Lazatin made the directive due to inclement weather brought by Typhoon “Pepito.”
“Alternative modes of instruction are allowed in lieu of face-to-face classes,” she said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), in a bulletin issued at 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, said Pepito weakened into a typhoon and was over Nueva Vizcaya.
Pepito may exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Monday morning or noon.
But PAGASA said heavy rainfall, severe winds, and storm surge may still be experienced in areas outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone.
Pampanga was under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2.
