Mayor Lazatin orders tree geotagging in Angeles City watershed

The Angeles City government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, has conducted tree geotagging in Barangay Sapangbato watershed.

Upon Lazatin’s order, the activity aimed to get data on the planted trees in the area.

The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) conducted geotagging and mapping of trees as part of the Tree Inventory Project.

“Sa isinagawang aktibidad, naitala ang kabuuang 206 puno, kabilang ang 106 calamansi, 18 suha, 44 mulberry, at 38 coconut trees, na matatagpuan sa loob ng Mang Abel’s Farm sa Sitio Somil, Brgy. Sapangbato,” the City Information Office (CIO) said.

“Layunin ng proyektong ito na masubaybayan ang kalagayan ng mga punong itinanim, mapalakas ang environmental monitoring, at mapabuti ang mga hakbang para sa climate resilience at watershed protection ng lungsod,” it added.

The local government continues to implement programs that aim to protect the environment and ensure a safer, greener, and stronger community for each Angeleño.
