MVP sees Home to buoy PLDT 2025 income

Despite a seeming plateau in core income in first half of 2025, top PLDT executives sees revenue growth towards end of this year.

Chairman Manny Pangilinan is pinning hopes mainly on its core business units — Enterprise, and Wireless. PLDT Home is seen to anchor growth for second half of 2025.

“I think it’s fair to state that the bright spots will belong to (PLDT) Home where we anticipate a growth in both net adds and in subscriber numbers,” Pangilinan said in a press conference Tuesday.

For the first half of 2025 (1H), PLDT Home maintained leadership in the fixed broadband market. Home’s fiber-only revenues reached ₱29.5 billion, reflecting a solid 7% year-on-year growth, or ₱2.0 billion higher than the same period in 2024. Fiber now contributes 97% of PLDT Home’s total revenues of ₱30.4 billion, up from 92% a year ago.

The telco core income, however, grew only by 1% on year, posting ₱17.6 billion from previous ₱17.2 billion.

On the other hand, PLDT’s consolidated gross service revenues posted a 3% rise (₱2.9 billion) in Gross Service Revenues to ₱106.3 billion.

The telco company’s Chief Operating Officer Butch Jimenez sees a steady growth until December from its fiber front.

“I think we remained to be on track to grow 10% by the end of the year for fiber growth,” Jimenez said.

The same observation is shared by Pangilinan.

“I think we could see some growths that will happen on the home fiber side, particularly. And I think wireless is making progress on the prepaid part of on the fiber side, and I think the fixed wireless business of voice growing,” Pangilinan added.
