Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda has expressed gratitude to the barangay tanods for their service to the people by giving them early Christmas gifts.
The watchmen, who are considered first responders in the barangays, received P2,000 cash, undergarments, hot dogs and chickens from the provincial government.
“Kung wala kayo at ang inyong malasakit, hindi po magiging payapa ang ating mga barangay,” Pineda said during the recent distribution of the early Christmas gifts.
Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, and former President and now Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo were present during the event.
“Isang simpleng regalo, kapalit ng malaking ambag nila sa kaligtasan at kapayapaan ng ating mga komunidad,” the Provincial Information Office said.
