NATURE’S COLOR CARNIVAL Pidayit, Vision Doers, Porac LGU hold free art workshop for kids

PORAC, Pampanga — Creativity bloomed in vibrant hues as young Kapampangan artists filled Aku Gastropub in Barangay Babo Sacan here with color and imagination during the “Nature’s Color Carnival: An Art Workshop for Kids,” spearheaded by the local government of Porac through its tourism, arts and culture office.

In partnership with creative brand Pidayit and Vision Doers Art Collective, the initiative united the local government and the creative community in a shared mission to nurture young talent.

Themed “Celebrating Creativity, Sustainability and the Magic of Childhood Through Art Inspired by Nature’s Color,” the workshop encouraged children to explore self-expression while drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature.

A total of 30 Kapampangan children and teens actively participated in the activity, supported by their parents who witnessed firsthand the unfolding of their children’s artistic potential.

Porac tourism officer Gem Marimla said “the program aims to empower local talents and provide young artists with opportunities to showcase their creativity,” thanking Vision Doers, Pidayit, and the parents for their commitment to cultivating the artistic gifts of the youth.

The workshop also serves as an extension of the municipality’s celebration of National Arts Month, highlighting Porac’s continuing support for arts and culture. For Jascha Tolentino, director of Vision Doers, the initiative goes beyond brushes and canvases. “Beyond art, this is a ministry to bring the children closer to God and nourish their talents and skills in art.”

Philip Torres, designer of Pidayit, emphasized that investing in children’s creativity is an investment in the future. “The children are our future and we fully support them through collaborating with them to discover talents that will be known to the world.”

In a unique collaboration, the children’s artworks will be curated by Pidayit and transformed into accessories and wearable art, giving their creations a platform that extends beyond the workshop and into the world of design.

Artists Arnel Garcia and Amewin Samia also lent their support, along with Vision Doers’ Chelssie Pan and Chris Pan, and the events group Psalm 91 Events, making the event a true community effort.
