GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija (PIA) — The National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation Systems (NIA-UPRIIS) Interim Division VI brought together irrigators associations (IAs) and other stakeholders to link them with financing and agricultural knowledge that can contribute to farm productivity and livelihood development.
The effort was carried out through the AGRISENSO Plus and Agricultural Orientation in partnership with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) and Syngenta at the NIA-UPRIIS Interim Division VI office compound in Barangay Cavite, Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
LANDBANK representative Ron Marie Pangilinan discussed the AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program, including financing options for qualified farmers, IAs, cooperatives, and other eligible agricultural stakeholders.
Participants were also briefed on available credit that may be tapped for agricultural production and related livelihood activities.
For its part, Syngenta resource speaker Maron De Vera covered crop production and protection, including common farming challenges and the proper use of agricultural technologies.
The session complemented the financing options discussed under the AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program.

According to NIA-UPRIIS, the activity reflects its efforts to support farmers and IAs beyond irrigation services by connecting them with government and private sector institutions that can provide access to financing, technical knowledge, and agricultural opportunities.
The initiative also aligns with the focus of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on improving farm productivity and promoting more resilient and sustainable agriculture. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
