MABALACAT CITY – A courier driver allegedly involved in large-scale distribution of illegal drugs in Metro Manila and Central Luzon yielded P3.4-million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation along Dau Access Road, Barangay Dau here in the evening of Aug. 21.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency identified the arrested suspect as alias Haji, 22, who allegedly used his work as courier driver as a cover for his illegal drug engagements.
Confiscated from the suspect were 500 grams of shabu contained in five pieces of knot-tied transparent plastic bags, and the marked money used during the buy-bust.
Alias Haji will be temporarily detained at PDEA Region 3 Jail Facility, while the seized illegal drugs will undergo forensic and confirmatory examinations at PDEA RO3 laboratory.
The operation was carried out jointly by the PDEA Region 3 Special Enforcement Team, PDEA Pampanga Office, and the Mabalacat City Police Station.
A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) is now being prepared for filing in court against the suspect. Punto News Team/PDEA-3
