The Pampanga Provincial Police Office (PPO), together with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), destroyed on Friday, December 27, thousands of seized and surrendered illegal firecrackers in the province.
The destroyed firecrackers, such as judas belt, five star, and piccolo, were confiscated from the illegal sellers.
“May mga boga o improvised cannons ding nakumpiska mula sa mga minors edad 7-12. Karamihan sa mga ito ay gawa sa PVC pipes, bote at lata na sinasamahan pa ng lighter at butane,” the Provincial Information Office (PIO) said.
From December 23 to December 26, the authorities seized some 4,200 mixed illegal firecrackers.
“Sa tala ng Pampanga Police, 86% ng sanhi ng mga firecracker related incidents noong nakaraang taon ay dahil sa boga kaya mas pinaigting pa ng kapulisan, BFP, kasama ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Pampanga sa pamumuno nina Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda at Vice Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda ang kampanya kontra sa paggamit at pagbebenta ng mga ilegal na paputok para hindi makumpromiso ang kaligtasan ng bawat pamilyang Kapampangan at maging masaya ang pagsalubong ng bagong taon,” the PIO said.
