The San Fernando City government, under the leadership of Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag, has conducted a forum on enhancing legal awareness and civic literacy among the Fernandinos.
The City Legal Office (CLO) spearheaded the Legal Education Forum 2025 on Thursday, June 19, at the Heroes Hall.
“The discussions centered on two crucial pieces of legislation: Republic Act No. 11313, widely known as the Safe Spaces Act, and Republic Act No. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012,” the City Information Office (CIO) said.
Lawyers from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Pampanga Chapter facilitated the discussions on the two laws.
The participants included students from St. Nicolas College of Business and Technology, Central Luzon College of Science and Technology, and City College of San Fernando Pampanga, and representatives from the women’s volunteer organizations Soroptimist International of Pampanga, Zonta Club of Pampanga, LGBTQIA+ groups SIWALA and OUTRIGHT Rainbow Coalition.
CLO’s Attorney IV Cornelio Tallada Jr. represented Caluag and City Legal Officer Atty. Jose Elmer Teodoro at the event.
This was the second legal education for this year.
