CLARK FREEPORT — The artistry, creativity, and timeless craftsmanship of Pampanga’s furniture industry took center stage as the 14th Pampanga Furniture & Furnishings Exposition (PFEX) 2026 officially opened at the SMX Convention Center Clark on Oct. 1.
Under the theme “Design Foresight: The Next One,” PFEX 2026 brings together the province’s finest furniture makers, designers, artisans, and industry leaders for a three-day celebration of innovation, heritage, and the evolving future of Filipino design.
Organized by the Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation Inc. (PFIF), the prestigious showcase highlights how Pampanga continues to carve its identity in the world of furniture — where traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary aesthetics, creating pieces that elevate homes, commercial spaces, and hospitality interiors.
Leading the opening ceremonies and ribbon-cutting were PFEX 2026 overall chairman Lance Tan, Philippine International Furniture Show 2027 overall chairman Erwin Tan, Department of Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza Bautista, DTI Region 3 director Edna Dizon, Angeles City executive assistant Rafael Lazatin, Beautéderm Corp. president and CEO Rhea Anicoche Tan, and PFIF president Paolo Feliciano together with key government officials and industry stakeholders.
Among the guests were Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region 3 director Atty. Balmyrson Valdez, Department of Science and Technology Region 3 director Julius Caesar Sicat, DTI Pampanga acting director Ma. Cristina Evangelista, Pampanga provincial tourism officer Michael Castañeda, Clark Development Corp. communications division manager Astrud Aguinaldo, Calfurn Manufacturing Inc. chairman Eredito Feliciano, Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines national president Evangeline Fernandez, and SMX Clark general manager Eduardo Miguel Morato.

More than 30 furniture designers and makers from Pampanga are featured in this year’s exposition, presenting exceptional creations that reflect the province’s rich woodworking traditions while embracing modern design sensibilities.
For Anicoche Tan, PFEX is a celebration of local talent and craftsmanship that deserves recognition. She shared her admiration for Pampanga-made furniture, revealing that pieces created by local artisans were incorporated into her own corporate building.
“I fell in love with the craft and I am an advocate of Kapampangan craftsmanship for many years. I’ve seen a piece of wood smoothly turned into something that will attract all of us, truly these furniture makers have genuine love for what they do. That’s when I understood that this province does not only make furniture, but creates heirloom and extraordinary pieces,” Tan shared.

PFEX 2026 overall chairman Tan emphasized that the exposition serves as a bridge between local consumers and the talented makers behind some of the country’s finest furniture pieces. “We usually do this in Manila, but we thought that it’s about time to let Kapampangans know that the furniture they buy from the expos in Manila are made by their fellow Kapampangans.”
He encouraged visitors to experience the exhibition beyond simply viewing displays — but to engage with designers and manufacturers, discover their creative process, and explore customized possibilities for their spaces.

Adding to the design experience is the DTI booth, which highlights enterprises under the agency’s Wearables and Homestyle sector. Participating businesses from Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales showcase locally made furniture, home accents, and handcrafted creations that embody Filipino artistry.
Among the featured Pampanga enterprises are Bayong Kultura, Chrislai Furnicraft, D4A Homecraft, and Luthier Guitars, alongside other regional makers such as Haspi Furniture of Bataan and Gracias Amor Rattan of Tarlac.

Beyond its impressive displays, PFEX 2026 also opens conversations on the future of furniture design through industry talks covering manufacturing innovations, technology, sustainability, and emerging trends shaping the interiors landscape.

A celebration of creativity, culture, and craftsmanship, PFEX 2026 proves that Pampanga is not only a home of culinary excellence and vibrant traditions — but also a destination for world-class design and Filipino-made elegance.
PFEX 2026 runs until October 3, open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at SMX Convention Center Clark.
