Rotary Clubs lead CPR awareness campaign in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Rotary International District 3790 Cluster 4A, in partnership with the University of the Assumption and the Philippine Heart Association Central Luzon (PHACL) Chapter, conducted a cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) awareness campaign at the UA Social Hall on July 17.

This marks the fourth year in a row that Cluster 4A has held the event. The cluster is composed of 11 Rotary Clubs: Central Pampanga, Dolores, Villa de Bacolor, Eastern Pampanga, Western Pampanga, San Fernando (P), Pampanga Cosmopolitan, Metro San Fernando (P), Greater Floridablanca, San Fernando Cabalen, and Southern Pampanga.

Member-doctors from PHACL conducted live demonstrations. They showed how to respond during cardiac emergencies and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). This device can help restore a heartbeat.

Students from Central Luzon College of Science and Technology (CelTech) attended the session. They observed the procedures and participated in hands-on practice. Training involved the use of CPR dummies.

Participants were guided on how to check for breathing, perform chest compressions, and act calmly in emergencies. The main goal was to equip people with basic life-saving techniques.  Organizers believe that even simple knowledge can make a difference while waiting for medical responders.

Rotary Cluster 4A, UA, and PHACL plan to continue promoting CPR education in local communities. Their shared mission is to build a safer and more prepared society. Press release
