The local government of San Fernando City, Pampanga, and a private company have installed solar power systems in the barangay halls of Bulaon and Panipuan.
The health center of Bulaon also received the same project.
This marked the beginning of a gradual renewable energy shift in the city, the local government said.
In her recent State of the City Address, Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag said that a “no cash-out” scheme was implemented between the availing barangays and the Majestic Synergy Ventures, Inc., while imposing a fixed rate of P8.50 per kilowatt-hour within 15 years as stated in the agreement.
Majestic would also cover the maintenance costs of the said solar power systems, the city government said.
