Sec. Lopez: NSCR relocation sites in Pampanga on track

NHA, LGUs assure completion of housing units by 2027

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) inspected the relocation sites in Angeles City and Municipality of Mexico in Pampanga for the housing units of families affected by the ongoing construction of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR).

The directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to DOTr is to ensure that project-affected residents are brought to decent relocation sites as the NSCR project is being completed.

Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez said the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Pampanga continue to work together to make sure that the remaining ongoing construction of housing units in San Fernando View Residences and Casa Angeles will be completed by 2027.

DOTr Assistant Secretary for Right-of-Way and Site Acquisition (ROWSA) IC Calaguas conducted the inspection to make sure the housing units are properly constructed and the ongoing construction in adjacent areas at San Fernando View Residences in Mexico, Pampanga and Casa de Angeles in Angeles City, Pampanga are on track.

Calaguas said.

The relocation site in San Fernando View Residences (SFVR) in Mexico, Pampanga has four low-rise, four-story buildings with 288 housing units for project-affected persons (PAPs). The SFVR Phases 1 and 2 with four buildings are scheduled for completion by November 2026, while the SFVR Phase 4 with 6 buildings is scheduled for completion by November 2027.

Mexico City, Pampanga Mayor Rodencio Gonzales expressed his full support for the project, noting that once the NSCR is completed, it will significantly help so many commuters.

Meanwhile in Angeles City, the DOTr through NHA is constructing the city’s first medium-rise relocation site.
The project features four-story, low rise buildings with 615 housing units. It is targeted to be completed in December 2027.

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin II also reaffirmed his support for the national government’s infrastructure and relocation projects.
