TMC cites media as partners in trust, care

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE — The Medical City (TMC) reaffirmed the vital role of the media as its partners in building public trust and delivering accurate health information during its Media Meet dubbed “Conversations on Trust and Care” held in Clark, Pampanga.

The gathering brought together members of the Central Luzon press and top leaders of The Medical City network, underscoring TMC’s belief that quality healthcare goes beyond hospital walls — it is built through open dialogue, transparency, and responsible information dissemination.

At a time when misinformation can spread faster than facts, TMC emphasized that the media serves as its most crucial ally in making healthcare understandable, accessible, and human to every Filipino family.

Keeping Care Accessible

Dr. Stuart Bennett, Group CEO of The Medical City, shared that the hospital group is deliberately moving against the industry trend of annual price hikes. Instead of raising prices yearly, TMC is focused on keeping care accessible, efficient, and sustainable for patients.

He also highlighted that The Medical City is among the first hospital groups to fully adopt and utilize PhilHealth funding for critical care — a step that significantly eases the financial burden on patients and their families during the most difficult moments.

Care with Compassion

Earline Borlongan, Hospital Director of The Medical City Clark, said TMC Clark’s mission is to bring the network’s high standards of care combined with genuine compassion to Central Luzon.

As part of a network of five hospitals and over 70 clinics nationwide, TMC Clark carries a bigger responsibility — to be a center of excellence north of Manila. She noted that Clark’s strategic location allows it to serve not only local communities, but also the growing US veteran community and medical travelers arriving via Clark International Airport.

TMC Clark continues to strengthen its centers of excellence in neuroscience, critical care, cardiovascular and cancer care, renal care, and preventive care.

Expanding in North Luzon

The Medical City Pangasinan CEO Dr. Juan Antonio Maximiano R. Escano

Meanwhile, The Medical City Pangasinan CEO Dr. Juan Antonio Maximiano R. Escano announced that a new Emergency Room and an expanded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are expected to be completed in the next six months, in anticipation of more critical-care and emergency patients.

Dr. Escano added that TMC Pangasinan aims to serve more of North Luzon, and shared that TMC’s presence has even encouraged other hospitals in the region to raise their own standards of service — ultimately benefiting patients.

More than a hospital update, “Conversations on Trust and Care” was a thank you to the media — for being TMC’s bridge to the community, for amplifying stories of hope and healing, and for championing truth in healthcare reporting.

In an era where every headline matters, The Medical City Clark sees the media not just as storytellers, but as partners in care.
