Upland overlooking the sea in Mariveles to be developed

Mariveles, Bataan: The Bataan-Baseco Joint Venture, Inc. (BBJVI) has big plans for an upland village overlooking the sea in Barangay Baseco Country in Mariveles with an area of 300 hectares by starting with the planting of trees and property blessing on Monday.

BBJVI led by president Jopet Inton, former Hermosa municipal mayor, and vice-president Jonathan Baldevarona, undertook the first tree planting in the area.

BBJVI community relations Erwin Oximoso said development of the project starts in more or less 25 hectares.

He said that they are planning to invite retirees to have houses in the area still under the management of BBJVI like in the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and Clark in Angeles City.

Oximoso forsees a new dam that will not pass the bypass and zigzag road with the construction of the Bataan – Cavite Interlink Bridge, crossing Manila Bay.

He said that they have talked with several investors who are interested to set shop in the area.

Inton said that with chairman Rod Franco, they first prepared a development plan before inviting investors like what they did in Hermosa where he was mayor for three terms. His wife Lawyer Anne Adorable Inton is now the mayor of Hermosa.

He expressed the hope that investments in hotel, residential, resorts, come in. At the coastline, we want more on port expansion.

Gila Garcia, Cong.

The Bataan – Cavite Interlink Bridge is a 32.15 – kilometer bridge that will cross Manila Bay from Barangay Alas-asin, Maariveles to Naic, Cavite. Alas-asin is adjacent to Barangay Baseco Country. (30)
