Visitors to the Mt. Samat National Shrine in Pilar can expect a more comfortable and meaningful experience with the construction of a new Visitors Complex, a project of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).

This came after the groundbreaking ceremony of the said complex held on April 9, following the annual commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The planned complex will include a Tourist Assistance Center, Visitors Center, and Multipurpose Administration Building, with facilities designed to improve guest services and enrich the historical experience of visitors. Among its features are orientation and exhibit areas, souvenir and dining spaces, function rooms, and other amenities for tourists. The project will also include interactive learning spaces, accommodations, and venues for meetings and events.

In his message, Governor Joet Garcia, expressed his support for the project and emphasized the importance of further developing Mt. Samat National Shrine as one of Bataan’s key destinations while preserving its historical value.

Also in attendance were Japanese Ambassador Endo Kazuya, United States Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Robert Ewing, DND Undersecretary Pablo Lorenzo, DOT Undersecretary Ferdinand Jumapao, PVAO Undersecretary Reynaldo Mapagu, NHCP Chairperson Regalado Trota Jose Jr., TIEZA COO Mark Lapid, Mt. Samat FTEZ Administrator Francis Theodore Initorio, Congressman Abet Garcia, Congresswoman Gila Garcia, Pilar Mayor Charlie Pizarro, and other government officials. (1Bataan/ Mar Jay delas Alas)
